About Jaya Madhava Trust

About Us the Trust

Jaya Madhava Trust is a registered Trust with a noble cause for which Jaya Madhava lived her whole life. She dedicated herself for up lifting of under previleged younger generation of India. She encouraged young children to go to school and in cases where their parents could not meet the expenses she always came forward to meet the expenses of those children for their school fees, uniforms, books and school bags. Many a times she used to pay the school fees of those under previleged children.

She used to monitor the progress of the children in their studies and encourge them to score better marks year after year. When such children grew up and get a good job and look after their parents she used to be delighted.

There have been several families who got benefitted by kindness of Jaya Madhava as education is still not affordable for many families in India. We all say child labour is illegal but how many of us go deep into the subject and find a way by which that child also could go to school like other children, study and come up in life.

Jaya Madhava had been very active in Rotary international activities as it was one platform where she could really contribute immensly for the wellfare of the community particularly young childresn. She had been a PHF (Paul Herries Fellow) which is bestowed on her for her selfless contribution to rotary international. Her contribution to PHF had helped to secure matching grants from Rotary international to serve orphanage at Kengeri in improving their living conditions by providing them with bunker beds, solar pump and solar water heating system to name a few. Apart from this project there have been several smaller projects she personally contributed to improve the living conditions of the children in orphanages.

Anna Dhaana is rated the highest among all Dhaanas and Jaya Madhava had insituted eight days of mid day meals every year as shashwatha Puja at Sathya Devatha Dharma Devatha Temple in Gurpur, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka state.

Apart from this she also has instituted Anna Dhaana for a mid day meal for one day at Devaki Krishna Temple in Goa.

Jaya Madhava had a wonderful vision and used to always say by educating a boy, you make one family comfortable but by educating a girl she will bring in a complete change in the living conditions of her parents, her siblings and then her own family as well. Which means educating a girl would benefit multiple families. Hence we must contribute to educate under privileged girls in our society so that we can bring in changes at faster pace.

With the encourgement from Jaya Madhava, her liberal contribution to ISKON Temple, Bangalore at the time of construction her husband Madhava Prabhu was recognised as Dharmadhikari at ISKON Temple at Rajajinagar Bangalore. When ISKON approached her for contribution for the new temple coming up at JP Nagar, without second thought she wrote a cheque and gave it to them.

As dreampt by Jaya Madhava, the Trust instituted in her name viz., Jaya Madhava Trust was to initially help 60 children 6 children of each standard from 1st standard to 10th standard. But when we met the school children in a remote village it was extremely difficult to choose who was poor among them. Hence it was decided to support all the children of the School. We selected 4 such schools and finally supported 172 children instead of initial plan of 60 children.

The Trust has a vision to add atleast 60 children each year for the next few years to reach 600 numbers within the next few years.
