School Library-Devarahalli

Type of Projects – School Library

Govt Higher Primary School. Devarahalli

On hearing about success story of our library project at Govt Higher Primary School Chikkadasarahalli, Devarahalli head master and teachers were persuading us to give them a library as their school children could also get benefitted. On 21st November 70th Birth day of Jaya we thought it would be an appropriate day for delivery of library. Accordingly library consisting of IKEA shelf and about 50 kannada story books was delivered to Devarahalli school to start with.

After setting up the library with the story books Mr.P.M.Prabhu Trustee addressed the kids to spread their knowledge by reading story books during their free time.

The School staff, teachers and some of the parents who could attend the function along with school children inaugurated the library.

There are many schools in the neighbourhood looking for the gesture of this kind and it is our endevour to fulfill the desires of these schools within our means. In the villages the schools are within a walking distance of 1K.M. whenever the village expands then a new school is built such that the school is within walking distance. This would be from 1st grade to 7th grade. Then on it would be cycling distance which is about 2.5km from the place of residence.

On 29th January 2024 when we together with Rishipath team visited Govt Higher Primary School, Devarahalli to deliver sports items Jaya Madhava Trust felt the number of story books in the library must be enhanced and we handed over to them another 50 kannada books. This was just to increase the number of story books in the library. Initially we had delivered school library consisting of IKEA book shelf and 50 kannada story books. With this 50 books added the total number of books in the Govt Higher Primary School Devarahalli comes to 100 books. The books reading cultivation amongst children at early stage will help them to broaden knowledge and create awareness.
